The golf world is still trying to discover what happened the final round of the masters last week in Augusta. Living in a world where Rory Mcilroy has a Grand Slam race always felt inevitable, but it is reality after all this time is so discordant.
There is no rest for tired thinking and the PGA Tour is not only back in action this week, but are in operation with the fifth signing event of the season at the RBC Heritage. It is always interesting to see who thrives in Hilton Head immediately after the masters, since they surely wonder where a one -week game was.
Maybe Justin Thomas is asking those questions or maybe he is only happy with what he did. Thomas triggered an opening round 61 on Thursday, which was obviously incredible, but it was so good that he specifically coincided with the 18 holes record at the RBC Heritage.

The lack of wind made ideal punctuation conditions and at the time of this writing, before the first round has ended for the context, there are multiple players that putters put serious scores. There is a reason why this is a signature event, after all.
While Thomas does not have the results that Rory does this season, he is having a lot of year so far in his own right. On Thursday he marked his second round of 62 or better this season and he is the only player so far this year to load two of them.
It should be a fantastic tournament in Hilton’s head of this rhythm.
