The United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, ordered the State Department to review the social media accounts for the visas of the United States that have visited the Gaza Strip in the last 18 years, according to an internal cable seen by the Reuters news agency.

The cable covers all students and tourists of visas in the United States and non -immigrants who have passed “any period of time in an official or diplomatic capacity” in Gaza as of January 1, 2007.

The cable was signed by Rubio, who previously told the media that his office has revoked more than 300 visas since the beginning of this year. They include students’ visas that have criticized Israel’s war against Gaza, even thought that the United States Constitution protects the freedom of expression of any person in the United States, regardless of their visa state.
