Be careful with people who can try to steal their personal information, deceive it to pay or register it in coverage without their consent.
Ask 3 questions before sharing any personal information:
- Obtain health coverage information from trustworthy government sites, such as Healthcare.gov.
- Be attentive to scams, especially on social networks, promising money or gifts.
- Contact the market call center to obtain registration aid
- Be sure to know who is helping it: ask questions and get your name, who they work, phone number, address, email and company website.
- If some say they are from the market, obtain your name and agent identification number, and request training tests from the Department of Health and Human Services of the United States.
3. Is this person acting properly?
- The market and its status Never Threaten your home or request information or payment of your credit card to maintain or qualify for health coverage.
- If they asked for money or personal information for health insurance, reprost it immediately. This includes calls that claim to be government agencies, such as Medicaid or Medicare.
- If you suspect suspicious behavior, hang and do not respond.
