Shohei Ohtani is far from the Los Angeles Dodgers for the birth of the first child of the bidirectional superstar.
Manager Dave Roberts said before the first game of the Dodgers series on Friday night in Texas that Ohtani was with his wife and that he went to the MLB paternity list.
“He and Mamiko wait at some point. That’s all I know,” Roberts said. “I don’t know when it will come and I don’t know when they will have the baby, but obviously life is together in the antipation.”
Ohtani, 30, published on his Instagram account at the end of December that he and his 28 -year -old wife, a former professional basketball player of his native Japan, before a baby in 2025.
“I can’t wait for the little rookie to join our family soon!” He said the December 28 publication that included a photo that showed the dear dog of the couple, decoy, as well as a pink monkey with flyers along with baby shoes and an ultrasound that was covered by a baby emoji.
Ohtani can lose up to three games while in Paternity Leave. The Dodgers have a series of three games in Texas before a day off on Monday, then play in the Chicago puppies on Tuesday.
