The state security of Missouri, Todric McGee, died early Saturday, so the authorities said it was a possible accidental and self -inflicted gunshot wound. Hey was 21 years old.
Cris Swaters, spokesman for the Springfield Police Department, said the officers who responded to a welfare check request found McGee at home on Friday morning.
“He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries where he then died. This is an active investigation,” Swaters said by email.
The University reported news of his death on Saturday, saying that he died of injuries suffered at home the day before.
McGee was entertaining his fifth season with the Bears and it was the initial security in 2023 and 2024. He obtained honors of all conferences in 2023.
“Our football family is in a state of shock and mourning before the loss of Todric,” said Chief coach Ryan Beard in the statement. He asked people to respect the privacy of McGee’s family and the football team, add: “Unique us to pray for Todric and the people who loved him.”
McGee grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and graduated from Wichita Northwest High School.
