Ambassador Mike Huckabee formally presented his diplomatic credentials to Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Monday, in the middle of a warm welcome welcome in a country that has visited dishes of time since the early 1970s.
“Welcome home,” said Herzog, and said Huckabee had a dear friend of Israel for many years.
Huckabee was humble in his own comments, explaining that he had not campaigned for work or has approached Donald Trump Bstil, recovered a phone call from the elected president after the elections. He broke several jokes at his own cost, commenting that Dr. Miriam Adelson, the widow of the late Magnate of the Pro-Israel Casino Sheldon Adelson, could have advised Trump to choose Huckabee if no one else would like work.
He is the first evangelical Christian to occupy the work, and for a long time he has had a view to Pro-Israel of which they were objectives for members of the Anti-Israel Congress such as Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD). Huckabe has said, for example, that Israel has a legal and biblical right to annex Judea and Samaria (Bank).
Huckabee preceded the accreditation ceremony with a formal visit to the wall of the videds on Sunday. He and President Herzog also recognized and cried the death of Pope Francis, one day after Easter.
Several other ambassadors also presented their credentials at the event, including the Canada Ambassador.
