A flight from Delta Air Lines caught on Monday at the Orlando International Airport, which caused rapid passenger evacuations on board.
Delta Flight 1213, which is usual between Orlando and Atlanta, was rolling to the track when one of the plane’s engines caught fire, Fox 35 reported, noting that there were 282 people on board at that time.
When the flames left the plane’s engines, the passengers quickly evacuated through the emergency slides of the plane.
“While no initial injuries were reported, a spokesman for Orlando International Airport confirmed that 3 people were transported with minor injuries,” said the medium.
Video images show smoke and flames, people inside the plane prepare to evacuate and then go down the emergency slide:
After the incident, Delta said: “We appreciate the cooperation of our clients and we apologize for the experience. Nothing is more important than the security and teams of Delta will work to overcome customs to their final destinations as much as possible.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the flight was pushing back from the door to leave around 11:15 am when the fire exploded.
“The passengers evacuated the plane using slides. The Airbus A330 went to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. FAA will investigate,” added the agency.
