Istanbul – An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude or 6.2 shook Istanbul on Wednesday, said the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency of Türkiye. There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries, but many people left the buildings in Istanbul with fear, looking for information about their phones and calling loved ones.
The earthquake had a shallow depth of approximately 6 miles, according to the United States geological service. His epicenter was about 25 miles southwest of Istanbul in Marmara’s sea.
It was followed by several replicas, including one that measures 5.3. The Disaster and Emergencies Management Agency urged residents to stay away from buildings.
