The Government of Tamil Nadu has granted its main focus for the phase I extension of the Chennai Metro Railroad project from Chennai airport to Kalaignar Centary Bus Terminus in JOLAMBAKKAM. The distance of 15.46 km will cost ₹ 9.335 million rupees.
A governmental order of the Department of Special Planning, Development and Incentives of Tamil Nadu issued on April 17 also recommended the detailed report of the project for the implementation of the project sent to the center for approval and financing under the exchange of shares.
The Government also allowed the CMRL managing director to proceed with the acquisition of land and carry out the change of public services and other preparatory works in advance of the approval of the center, the order said.
The sources said the project will be built in the high structure along the GST road. It is likely that the stations arise in 7-8 locations, including Pallavaram and Tambaram.
