Days after the NFL 2024 draft, I made a small preview of the NFL 2025 draft, one of the 32 best of the next potential selections of the Draft in 2025.
Well, the time has come for us to take a look at this first big board and we see what I did well, and where I fell short.
What I did well
Among my board of the 32 best players when the first big board was launched after the 2024, 20 draft were also in the Big Board of Arif Hasan consensus. A percentage of 62.5% from beginning to end feels quite well, especially after examining those players from beginning to end. The majority of the best boys stayed at the top of this class, and although there was some movement, people stayed the same.
My best offensive liner in this class at the end of the process is the same as my best offensive liner: Will Campbell de LSU. While Campbell does not have exactly the great arm length you are looking for in a prototypical Tackle, but its central flexibility and its ability to anchor could make it a good Tackle (but an elite guard). Arizona Wr Tetaira McMillan remained close to the top of my board, although not in the seventh place as in April. McMillan has been dragged by the embers in this cycle, from not executing a 40 -yard race in the NFL combines to being interrogated on whether or not football loves, but in the field it is a dynamic receiver that can create separation in the intermediate game. Penn State Edge Abdul Carter also stayed at the top of my great board, one of the best players of all this kind of Draft. In his first year as a full -time advantage, Carter showed the speed and explosion that could make him a dominant player in the NFL, and why he was at the top of Himon the season.
What I was wrong
Yes, it was too low in Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeacty entering the season. I had Hunter 13 and Jeanty 21 on my board after the 2024 draft, and both ended up among my first three at the end of the cycle. I was worried about how long Hunter would endure if he played the corner and the receiver, but it turns out that he became the same in both positions and enrutruta to the Heisman trophy award. Jeanty arrives at number 3 on my board after a historic season, where he showed that it could be a bell after 2023 where he shared the field with George Holani. Jeanty is one of my favorite players to see on tape this year; A true three below that can change an offensive.
I had Tennessee Edge James Pearce Jr when my best player entered 2025, but I hoped that his frame would be filled and could be a little better the race in 2025. NIOR of those things really reached 37 in my end. He was in a rotation along Tennessee’s front, and they would try to avoid playing it with the strength of the race design. I hope you go to a good place in the draft that will help you become what I thought it could be.
Kentucky DT Deone Walker was my second player in general, and not only deciphe my 100 top 100 at the end of this cycle. His 2024 was very hard, with a column injury that he tried to play through that HJS game severely hindered. Even with the recognition of the back injury, I worry a little about 6’7 defensive tacle with thin legs and a bad back. I think Walker could still end before day 3, but thinking about what could have been will be interesting.
Ok well, let’s talk about QB
Carson Beck was my QB1, who … did not age very well. Although Georgia’s receptor core was not at all, Beck’s 2024 was up and down, Waseas players like Shadeur Sanders improved more than Beck. Miami QB Cam Ward was in that first big together, but I said this on him:
“Miami Transfer QB Cam Ward could be there, but you also have to drastically reduce Jackass’s moves.”
I am not sure if he got rid of all Jackass’s plays, but Ward improved his game inside his pocket and it is very likely that it is the first general choice. However, after Sanders, the class becomes very murky, as I thought before this process.
