The crushers and the Rippers are tied in the leadership of the team at 15 below, six free Smash GC.
DCCHAMBEAU, looking for his first victory in the Liv Golf since 2023, averaged 367 yards in its 14 units on Friday, including two units or more than 400 yards. His last trip on the first hole traveled 372.9 yards. The 63 is its lowest opening round in Liv Golf.
“It was fun to get to the ball away,” Dechambeau said. “Fun to end with a good blow in the last hole.”

In total, the field produced 11 units of 400 yards or more in the elevation of 7,900 feet, with Smash Captain Brooks Koepka with the longest trip to 435 yards in Hole 11. There were 66 units between 370 and 399 yards, giving fans of Mexico City a lot to encourage the appearance of debut of Liv Golf in the capital of the nation.
“It has always been exciting around here,” said Rangegoats GC Bubba Watson’s captain, who is alone after a 5 bass 66.
Dchambeau began his day driving the second pair of 316 yards and 22 feet hollow for Eagle. He continued with Birdies in the next two holes, and also a Birdie in the seventh pair 5 (with a trip of 379 yards) to move to 5 below after six holes.
But any thought of another sub-60 round disappeared in the next eight holes in which he also played even.
“There were many moments when I felt that I was going to take it to 9, 10 under and there were times when I, man, could have 3 bass or 2 under easily if I don’t put my act in shape,” Deschambeau said. “It’s a Tutter golf course.”

Rahm, the individual golf champion Liv 2024, opened with three consecutive Birdies and was 5 under seven before suffering a couple of Bogeys. He played the nine of Back Nine in a 4 under free and briefly solo leadership after draining a 39 feet putt Birdie in 13.
“What better way to start than with three inauguration,” he said. “That simply marked the guideline. I felt really comfortable in the green ones all day. I really couldn’t have asked for a much better score.”
Smith, who is looking for his first victory in the LIV golf since 2023 as Dechambeau, also began with three consecutive Birdies. He had six birdies in his first eight holes and route to shoot 64, his lowest round of the season.
“I have put myself in a really good place after the first round,” said Smith, whose Rippers won the previous LIV golf tournament in Miami, with his teammate Marc Leishman claiming the individual title. “Hopefully, I can go out during the weekend and give everything and I hope I go with a trophy.”
After having finished in the first hole on Friday, Deschambeau will now begin its second round in the same hole on Saturday that part of the group of leaders that includes Rahm and Smith. With the conditions of the reaffirmed course, long units should remain abundant.
“It will become firm and fast here,” said Dcchambeau. “It’s a lot of fun this weekend.”
