A deadly explosion in an Iranian port that killed at least 28 people on Saturday was caused by chemicals used for ballistic missile fuel, which in turn had imported from China, according to media reports on Sunday.
As Breitbart News pointed out on Saturday: “A great explosion … destroyed large parts of the Iranian port of Shahid Rajae to the southwest of Bandar Abbas along the coasts of the Persian Gulf … The port is located in southwest Iran and the explosion. Third round of nuclear conversations with the United States in Oman.” Death is on Sunday, at least 28, with the third round.

A person with links with the body of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard of Iran said that what exploded was sodium perclorato, an important ingredient in solid fuel for missiles. The person spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss security issues.

The Ambrey security firm told Associated Press that there were indications that the result of the explosion of inappropriate storage of sodium perclorato in the port. Financial Times reported in January that China had sent the chemist to Iran, whose missile propellant actions were exhausted last year and its power, Hezbollah, launched missiles in Israel.
The explosion remembers a massive explosion in a port in Beirut, Lebanon, in 2020, where explosive chemicals had allegedly stored by Hezbollah, which was supposedly intended to use chemicals in antiisraeli weapons.
