Ericsson announced today that it will establish antenna manufacturing operations in India, with plans to locate 100 percent of its passive antenna production for the Indian market in June 2025. Expansion is part of the company’s strategy for global network strategies.

The telecommunications giant will be associated with VVDN Technologies to launch the local production of passive antennas in India, which adds to its existing manufacturing facilities in Mexico, Romania and China. A significant part of the antennas manufactured in India will also export, positioning the country as a strategic center within the Ericsson global supply chain.

“In Ericsson, the antennas are critical, serving as a point of entry to the best performance and innovation of the network,” said Mikael Eriksson, head of the Ericsson antenna system. “Expansion in India strengthens our ability to deliver avant -garde technology at speed, closer to where our clients are building general general networks.”

According to Nitin Bansal, managing director of Ericsson India, the expansion reflects the company’s commitment to the industrial and digital future of India. The movement aims to guarantee a faster deployment, greater response capacity and stronger protection against supply chain interruptions.

Ericsson has maintained a presence in India for approximately 120 years, starting in 1903 with the delivery of manual switches to the Indian government. The company became the first telecommunications manufacturer in India in 1994 and has been working with Indian service providers to implement 5G networks in recent years.
