The Government is developing a digital platform to allow the electronic presentation of documents in commercial remedies investigations in order to promote greater transparency, efficiency and ease of access to all interested parties, an official statement said on Saturday.
These investigations are carried out by the General Directorate of Commercial Remedies (DGTR) of the Ministries of Commerce.
Since 1995, India has started more than 1,200 commercial remedy investigations and recent interventions have protected national sectors, including solar energy and advanced materials, such as solar cells and copper wire bars, an unfair price.
“Looking to the future, the government is developing a digital platform to allow the electronic presentation of documents in commercial remedy investigations,” said the Ministry of Commerce in the statement.
The platform is expected to go to Live are, which offers greater transparency, efficiency and ease of access to all interested parties, he said.
The main objective of the Directorate is to protect the delicate sectors against the impact of the advertiser of trade liberalization, such as the discharge and subsidies of any exporting country, through the conduct of investigations in a limited way for the time.
The main functions of the DGTR include the conduct of anti -dumping, antisubsidia/CVD research (compensatory service) and safeguard.
The Ministry of Finance makes the final decision to impose thesis duties.
In addition, DGTR, through its commercial defense wing, has effective the imposition of commercial remedy measures by the authorities of remedy to foreign trade.
“These efforts have resulted in reduced tasks or complete relief of such measures on Indian exports, thus protecting the international commercial interests of India,” the ministry said.
It was established in 2018 through the consolidation of the General Directorate of Antidumping and Allies (DGAD) and the General Directorate of Safeguardas.
