Bank bluesObesity concerns

APPROPLES, “How do we interpret the IMD forecast” (April 18). A good seasonal rain forecast directly affects the increase in the surface of Kharif crops and leads to a better farm production.

This, in turn, increases the rural economy and contributes to the general economy, where most workforce depends on agriculture and allied activities. It provides enough water for irrigation, but also for the generation of hydroelectric energy and the increase in storage of deposits for drinking water needs.

However, normal cumulative rain does not guarantee the temporal and spatial uniform distribution of rain throughout the country, with climate change further increasing the variability of the rain support system, which leads to frequent droughts and floods.

Bank blues

The News RBI Penalizes Kotak Bank, IDFC First Bank, PNB (April 18), is a sad comment on the regulatory environment.

He thought that the RBI and other regulators are vigilant and impose fines on wandering entities, but the mere fine barely does justice.

Malicating the royal charges of the entity, shareholders, perpetrators are unpunished. There must be a system in which the wandering personnel are asked to pay and/or the termination of the face.

Obesity concerns

With reference to the article ‘addressing childhood obesity’ (April 18), childhood obesity is a public health challenge that affects children psychologically and physically.

Overweight children have a higher risk of development of non -communicable disease. Parents and teachers must encourage children to adopt a healthy diet. A holistic approach where parents, schools, local authorities and the government work together to address childhood obesity in India is the need for the time.
