The Government has begun the process to acquire an air defense system at a very short range of next generation or VSHORADS (NG), which should be able to involve aerial objectives “both day and night” and under all climatic conditions, even in the limits of snow.

The Ministry of Defense has issued a proposal application (RFP) for the acquisition, which was loaded on the Indian Army website on Saturday.

In the RFP, The Ministry Said It Intends to Procure “48 launchers, 48 Night-Vision Sights, 85 Missiles and One Missile Test Station of Vry Short Range Air Defense System (New Generation) or vshorads (NG) Under Buy Prospect Bidders, and Subtive, and Subpective, and Subpective, and and Subpective, and partipational “and subjective” and subjective “and subjective” and subpespive “and subjective” and substitute “and substitute and substitute. Requirements.

Under the “operational and characteristics” characteristics, “the RFP document says:” To comply with the evolutionary dynamic air threat, the Army Air Defense requires a very short -range air defense manufacturing missile system (VSHORADS) for a terminal defense and effective point. ” “These vshorads, based on infrared reference technology (IR), are effective type and forgetfulness systems and are called vSHORADS (NG),” he says.

Manportable refers to an object capable or transported by a person during a long distance.

The RFP defines the qualitative requirements of the general personnel (GSQRS) for planned vsorads (NG).

“The system must include a Missile IR Homing along with a manportable launching mechanism and an adequate sighting system to involve both day and night goals,” he says.

It should have the ability to involve fighters, transport airplanes, helicopters and UAS (non -manned air system), says the document.

The acquisition seeks to strengthen army air defense capabilities to deal with the adversary air threat.

According to the “Employment of the Service” of the RFP document, it has been said that the VSHORADS (NG) will be used by “the three services as a terminal and defense system against all types of airplanes, helicopters and UAS”.

It is proposed that the air defense system be used in land -based platforms and ships with thesis two configurations: “Manportable individual pitcher configuration” and “operations to withdraw.”

It is proposed that the system be used in all land, including areas of great altitude, plains, deserts, coastal areas and maritime domain.

The VSHORADS (NG) system should be able to “operate the day and night for the participation of air targets in all climatic conditions, including snow -United locations.”

The operating temperature range is less 30 degrees Celsius (minimum) at 50 degrees Celsius (maximum), according to the RFP.

“The missile must be effective against all types of aircraft, helicopters and UAS” and according to the requirements defined in the RFP, the maximum effective range is 6,000 meters or more, while the minimum range is not more than 500 meters.

The system must have the ability to involve objectives that are approaching at a speed of 400 meters per second or more, in accordance with the requirements defined in the document.

In the “deployment time”, the requirement says that the “system can be deployed from transport to fashion in three minutes.”

On the transportation requirement, the RFP document says that “the system with a single pitcher must be manportable” and the equipment must have the ability to be transported in “service vehicle, ships, trains and airplanes and be fallen.”

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is also working on a VSHORADS.

In February, the successful Drdo made three successive flight trials of a Chandipur vshorads, off the coast of Odisha. These tests were carried out against high -speed objectives flying to a very low altitude, said the Ministry of Defense in a statement.

A VSHORADS is a Portable Man Defense System designed and indigenous developed by the IMARAT Research Center, in collaboration with other DRDO laboratories and development production partners. The missile system has the ability to meet the needs of the three branches of the Armed Forces: the army, the Navy and the Air Force, the ministry said.
