Nissan Motor will end the production of vehicles in its Wuhan plant in China the current commercial year that ends on March 31, 2026, Yomiuri newspaper reporting sources he notified.

The decision is produced after the operation rate at the 300000 vehicle capacity plant, which produces the ARIYA electric vehicle and the X-Trail SUV, fell below 10 percent of the capacity in the midst of the hard competition of Chinese car manufacturers, Yomiuri said.

Nissan declined to comment on the report on the plant, which has leased from Dongfeng Motor since 2022.

The Japanese automation manufacturer predicted a net loss of 700 billion yen to 750 billion yen ($ 4.87 billion, $ 5.22 billion) on Thursday for the financial year that ended in March due to the charges for deterioration. ($ 1 = 143,6700 yen)
