The impulse of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, in tariffs on imported iPhones, will make the device expectation for Americans due to a greater tax along with a higher production cost, analysts and experts said on Friday.

Neil Shah, Vice President of Research in Market Research and Analysis, Counterpoint Research, said that relocating the Apple manufacturing ecosystem.

“It is not just that Foxconn opened a factory in the United States, but also the supply chain has to be relocated closer to the United States, which is out of doubt. Secondly, even if Apple’s partner begins to assemble himself in the United States, will be at least extremely expensive.

Trump has pressed again for the manufacture of iPhones in the United States and not in India or anywhere else for the sale of the country.

“A long time ago I informed Tim Cook from Apple that I hope that his iPhone that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States, not in India, or elsewhere. If that is not the case, a tariff to pay, social.

Previously, Trump has specifically expressed the reserve on the expansion or production of iPhone in India.

An analysis of Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI) estimates that Apple, through its software, design and brand, states that the participation of the lion of around $ 450 on each iPhone was sold for $ 1,000.

The manufacturers of US components such as Qualcomm and Broadcom add another $ 80, Taiwan wins $ 150 for chips manufacturing, South Korea adds $ 90 for OLED screens and memory chips, and contributions from Japan $ 85, mainly systems.

Other countries such as Germany, Vietnam and Malaysia represent $ 45 modest through smaller parts, while India obtains only $ 30, or that a large part is returned through incentive schemes linked to production.

“In India, the workers of the Assembly earn approximately $ 230 per month. In contrast, US minimum wage laws. In states such as California, monthly labor costs could increase to $ 2,900, an increase of 13 times.

He said that if Apple’s assembly moves, India will be forced to stop the shallow assembly lines and insist on a deeper manufacturing: chips, screens, batteries and beyond.

“The cost for Apple’s margins is real, but so is the gain in domestic employment, economic rebalancing and the resilience of the supply chain. Even India, once the dust settles, can benefit when pushing towards depth, valuing of the deep path

Shah said that if it is not China, then India remains the only potential manufacturing destination for Apple, since the ecosystem is in fungi helped by the qualified English -speaking work of lower cost, world -class software talent, favorable government policies such as PLI (linked production incentive) and a huge internal consumption market.

“The US application could also be a way to obtain leverage of India in negotiations, since they live in India, need marquee companies such as Apple for Catalysis and build an ecosystem of national suppliers in this strong product of the fins.”

Cook had previously declared that Apple will obtain most of the iPhones sold in the United States from India in the quarter of June, while China will produce the rapid majority of devices for other markets amid the uncertainty about tariffs.

The iPhones manufactured in India are assembled in the Taiwanese contract factory Foxconn’s Factory in Tamil Nadu. Tata Electronics, which executes the operations of Pequeatron Corp in India, is the other key manufacturer. Tata and Foxconn are building new plants and adding production capacity to increase iPhone production.

Apple gathered 60 percent more iPhones, for an estimated value of $ 22 billion, in India in the year ended in March 2025.

Foxconn has also begun to manufacture Apple Airpods in Telangana for exports.

According to an analysis carried out by Global S&P, iPhone sales in the US.

“Apple is again in the sights of a posture of the ‘America First’, which happens the tightrope between inflationary pressures and absorption costs. Although the tar can see SIEVE-SAW is likely, plant assalfing, gear in the global supply chain of Apple only becomes stronger,” said the research of cyber media, industry research group, industry research Vice President of Vice President, said the vice president of Prabhu Ram.
