A UK delegation, consisting of DBT representatives and eight finance and technology companies, including Datactics, Credas and LoyalBe, is gathering at the Fintech Meetup financial sector event in Las Vegas to meet US fintech counterparts to discuss industry challenges, best practices, investment opportunities and strategic partnerships.

In 2023, the UK exported a record £40billion in financial services to the US, according to the Department for Business and Trade. In a move to foster further collaboration, between 10 and 13 March, the delegation attended meetings organised by DBT, networking sessions, panels and speeches, all to further US and UK finance and technology innovation.

“International trade meetings are invaluable to strengthening the UK’s position as a global financial services and technology, and the Department for Business and Trade has made this a fantastic opportunity to build relationships with our US counterparts,” explained Stuart Harvey, CEO of Datactics, from the delegation.

“Data is vital to the future of financial services, building a foundation of data quality and governance upon which banking, payments services and insurance operate,” he added. “Without significant investment in data infrastructure, financial institutions are at risk of siloed information, unaware of where sensitive financial details are and unable to utilise this data effectively.

“Over the coming days, we are hoping to meet with innovative US counterparts, exploring the potential of data in financial services with strategic partners and investment teams.”

Beyond the trade mission, Fintech Meetup is featuring a series of panels and speaking sessions by leading industry figures from the likes of HSBC, J.P. Morgan, as well as Citi, road-mapping the future of financial services and technology and exploring the intersection of innovation in two growing industries.
