Aeroflow Health, a health technology company, announced last week a new diabetes management program, which aims to improve adherence, results and coordination of care for members of the health plan.

Aeroflow Health, based in Asheville, North Carolina, was founded in 2001 and sacrifices a variety of medical devices covered by insurance. The company has four lines: Aeroflow Bocks, Aeroflow Diabetes, Sleep Aeroflow and Urology Aeroflow. In addition to medical devices, it provides education and consultations. The company has associations with more than 1,000 insurance plans and serves more than 1.4 million patients annually.

Through the new diabetes program, patients get access to educational content on how to handle their condition, including adherence to medications, lifestyle modifications and glucose monitoring strategies. They can also use a new digital health tool with AI that is synchronized with continuous glucose monitoring data. This allows patients to receive personalized ideas about their health, training and communication promoted by AI with their supplier.

In addition, patients can receive medical nutrition therapy: support for the behavior of registered dietitians to help them create food plans and build healthy habits. Patients can also participate in interactive classes on diabetes management, as well as in web seminars that cover healthy recommendations for cooking and physical activity. Through an online store, Patientian can verify its benefits and access products and services such as continuous glucose monitors and blood pressure monitors.

Meanwhile, Aeroflow Health Plan partners receive data on the results and patient participation, allowing them to “allow strategic decision making and commit to personalized approaches to support the patient’s well -being,” said Casey Hite, CEO or Aerof.

“Health plans can obtain a better quality of care that reflect the highest satisfaction scores by patients who are more committed and supported by their health trips,” Hite said in an email.

The launch of the program arrives at a time when approximately 38.4 million Americans, or 11.6% of the population, have diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association. Around 2 million Americans have type 1 diabetes, including 304,000 children and adolescents.

“These numbers show the amazing need in quality care and broader access to care to allow patients to have healthy and satisfactory lives,” said Hite. “Aeroflow’s goal with the launch of this program is to help patients to understand and better manage their diabetes … Alignment of our advanced digital tools, we continue our mission of providing holistic care and patient focused.”

To measure the success of the new diabetes program, Aeroflow Health will track the patient’s health results, including A1C reductions, general weight loss and blood pressure measures, Hite added. The company also aims to obtain more health plans with the launch of the program.

Several other companies also slaughter diabetes management programs for members of the Health Plan, including Health, Virta Health and Teradoc Health.
