Gift Cunningham had 33 points and 12 rebounds, Dennis Schroder made triple triple with 55 remaining seconds, and the Detroit Pistons broke their NBA record, the postseason streak of 15 games by beating the New York 100-94 Knicks.
The Pistons, who had one leg for the 2019 post -sodden son, recovered after the Knicks erased a 15 -point deficit to obtain their first victory in the playoffs from game 4 of the final of the conference this 2008 against Boston. The Celtics won the last two games of that series and the Pistons were swept in 2009, 2006 and 2019 before dropping game 1 in Madison Square Garden.
Now they are back in the Win column, all tied in the series and will be the host of game 3 on Thursday night.
Schroder, who was in the Pistons until an exchange in February, nailed the triple after the Knicks had used a 16-4 race to bind him to 94 in the voyage of Josh Hart. It ended with 20 points from the bank.
The Pistons designed one of the greatest changes in the history of the NBA this season, going 44-38 after a 14-win victory in 2023-24 that included a perdemer streak of 28 games, longer in a single season.
They were there in good shape to win game 1 with an eight-point advantage after three quarters, before the Knicks used a 21-0 race in the fourth to win 123-112. Detroit builds another advantage of eight points after three Monday, and this time he made the big plays after another Knicks rally.
