Justin Thomas was victorious at Harbor Town on Sunday when he picked up his 16th Victory of PGA Tour at the RBC Heritage. A Playoff hole was needed to get there, the fifth playoff on the tour this season, but that only joined the intensity of everything.
Interestingly, the event marked the 250 start of Thomas’s career, so a conversion in 16 or they put their winning percentage of their career at 6.4%. Putting it that way may sound insignificant, but this is the professional golf where to win is extraordinarily combed. Context is required.
Consider that Thomas still is only 31 years old (for a little more time if we are being technical). His security for victory number 16 makes it the 58th player in the history of the tour to get there and is now tied for 54th position in terms of victories (Jack Burke, Jr., Ralph Guldahl, Mark O’Meara, Tom Weiskopf).
JT has always been a passionate player who seems to prosper when the lights are brighter. We could offer that his Atlanta impulse wins the opening season of TGL is proof of that, but there are clearly a series of opinions on the League in general.
Consider some other brands in relation to Justin Thomas that demonstrate your love for the proverbial moment:
As noted, Thomas won in a playoff against Andrew Novak. It now has 5-2 in career playoffs. Clutch.
Thomas also became the first player to turn an 18 -hole advantage into a victory this season. It is certainly able to bring that load in a great event. Obviously, this was not an important and it was real the following week, but that is not easy and this was in fact a signature Event in that. JT has now converted 5 or 12 possible first round cables, by the way.
Finally, while JT had the first round advantage in Hilton Head (the second, like this), he lost it after the third round. Technically speaking, this means that his victory was ultimately of the variety from the point of view. Half or their career victories have invented the back of some type of deficit, not to mention the last five specifically, the most memorable among them the PGA 2022 championship, where at one time it had dropped 7 blows.
The world of golf was impossible to contextualize after the victory of Rory Mcilroy in the Masters, but only a week later, Justin Thomas helped reaffirm that multiple elite races can be happening in parallel or with each other.
