Nebraska coach Matt Rhule called an audible in his plan to completely eliminate the rest of the full route on the day of what would normally be the spring game of the cornhuskers.
Rhule said Thorsday the April 26 event that replaces the spring game would include an indeterminate amount of live players for mainly third and fourth rope players.
Rhule last month became the first coach to announce the end of the traditional spring game of his school, citing worrying about other teams exploring his players in a televised scrimmage and possible poaching.
He said that the horses provide another opportunity to the borderline players who are trying to make the list of the list of 105 men in the fall and also to the players who already have bone that will not be in the team in the fall of the need to play.
“The boys who are cemented at their points won the game,” Rhule said. “Some boys can ask to play. Some are 2 but they want pro -To 1.”
The event that replaces the spring game is called The Husker Games and will feature competitions of skills and games 7 against 7 with current and previous players. A women’s flag soccer exhibition is also scheduled.
