Much of the NFL draft approach is concentrated in the equipment at the top of the order. Those are the teams that need a talent that changes the franchise (usually a field marshal) to become contestants, and always have the internal track of the best warning players.
On the contrary, very little attention is paid to the Super Bowl -holding champions and their respective Draft night decisions. Looking at the last 10 reigning champions, it is easy to see why. The results have mostly inspiring bones to the point where the best first round movement not only involved recruiting a player, while the sausage was an exchange for a seemingly forgotten field seafood bust.
For each team, we will also see the best choice for that season.
2024 Kansas City Chiefs: Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

Kansas City approached his lack of depth of the broad receptor by making the lightning-cycle worthy after operating at No. 28 with the Buffalo Bills. Worthy caught 59 passes for 638 yards and six touchdowns and had three touchdowns by land, showing her speed that changes the game. Its 157 reception yards against the Philadelphia Eagles (although mainly in garbage time) is a Super Bowl rookie record.
Best draft selection: TBD. It is too early to make a statement, but dignified is the favorite too favorite since Jaden Hicks was the only other important taxpayer.
2023 Kansas City Chiefs: Felix Anudike-Euzomah, Edge, Kansas State
It has a promising beginning for Anudike-Uzomah, which has only three catches and 14 hits of QB in a limited game time in two seasons. It is a slower rotational passes corridor that can not yet greed 20 snaps to game. Fortunately for the Chiefs, George Karlaftis and Chris Jones remain the stars in the trenches.
Best draft selection: Rashee Rice. Before his knee injury in the season on week 4 of last year, the second round receiver was on the way to becoming the higher long -term objective of Patrick Mahomes. He was immediate immediate in his last championship season and should be fundamental in the KC offensive next season.
2022 Rams de los Angeles: He selected the first round for Matthew Stafford

When you give up multiple novelties for Matthew Stafford and he wins you a Super Bowl, you have made the correct movement. After having changed the second round for Von Miller in the middle of his championship season, the first choice of the not until number 104 in general in the third round, when they used in the offensive line of Wisconsin, Logan Bruss. Hello, your ACL as a rookie and placed in the practice team the following year. Bruss did not make his debut in the Rams until last season, duration of what was renounced and claimed by the Tennessee Titans.
Best draft selection: Kyren Williams. Its best selection is clearly the Kyren Williams corridor, who comes from consecutive seasons of 1,000 yards and has been a larger value as a fifth round selection.
2021 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, Edge, Washington
Buccaneers use all-in to get Tom Brady in free agency and paid immediate dividends. They stayed at number 32 in the 2021 draft and the toky Huskies passes corridor, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. Tryon-Shoyinka registered 15 captures around four seasons, but nok a really shocking corridor. He has just signed with the Cleveland Browns in the free agency.
Best draft selection: Tryon-Shoyinka. This is condemned with ending praise, to be honest. Six of the class of seven Tampa Bay players are no longer with the team, with the field marshal Kyle transk the last man standing after throwing 11 passes in four years.
2020 Kansas City Chiefs: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU
If there is a real “What happens yes?” To explore with any of these defense champions, they are the 2020 chiefs. Jonathan Taylor was 10 selections after Edwards-Helaire, while the next selection after CEH was Tee Higgins. Oh.
Best draft selection: L’Arius Cut. The fourth round corner became an important part of the last two Kansas City Super Bowl titles before being changed to the Tennessee Titans.
2019 New England patriots: N’keal Harry, WR, Arizona state
Bill Belichick’s doubtful history with early width receptors was on complete exhibition here. Harry only caught 57 the regular season passes through three forgettable seasons in New England. Debo Samuel and Aj Brown were the following two receptor tasks, and exchanged their second round to the Seattle Seahawks, which selected DK Metcalf.
The best draft selection: Damien Harris. This was an emblematic horrendous class of the diminishing talent of the Patriots in the last years of the Belichick era. The third round selection now withdrawal had more than 1,000 yards of total offensive in 2021 and obtained 15 touchdowns in the most recent playoffs season in New England.
2018 Philadelphia Eagles: exchanged from the first round
After winning their first Lombardi trophy, the Eagles moved from round 1 and raided the way for the Baltimore Ravens to select some men called Lamar Jackson. They moved a little higher in the second round from no. 52 to number 49 and the closed wing drafted Dallas Goedert, who has a very solid player for the Eagles, although he has been subject to recent commercial speculation.
Best draft selection: Jordan Mailata. Howie Roseman only made five selections in 2018. Three of them were Goedert, Josh Sweat (Fourth Round) and Mailata (Seventh Round). The former Rugby player has become one of the best offensive tacle in sport and comes a selection of the second team there plus a Super Bowl ring.
2017 New England Patriots: Market the first round for Brandin Cooks
This was a scarce draft for the Patriots, who had four low selections in the league largely due to low seasonal offices. They cool to the Saints of the first and third in the New Orleans for the rapid receiver Brandin Cooks, who was changed to Los Angeles Rams a season later. He also resolves his second round for the Carolina Panthers in a horrible exchange by Kony Ely, who was renounced later that August.
The best New England selection was the Derek Rivers Passes Corridor, selected at number 83 in the third round. The injuries and the ineffective game led to only 14 appearances in the regular season four years before they renounced it in the mid -2020 season.
Best draft selection: Deatrich Wise JR. This is really by default. Conor McDermott and Antonio García never made the list of the regular season. Wise was a wise choice of fourth round that became a very good defensive liner around eight seasons, accumulating 34 captures before signing with the Washington commanders this low season.
Denver Broncos 2016: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis

Do you remember it? The Broncos needed a field marshal after the outstanding insurance spokesman throughout the country, Peyton Manning, retired as twice super bowl champion. They were negotiated from no. 31-New England’s patriots lost their first round as a punishment as Spygate-To No. 26 with the eyes of John Elway firmly located in 6’7 Paxton Lynch. The former Memphis star should be the heir to Manning apparent.
He could not beat Trevor always in the training field.
Lynch only made five appearances and four openings with the broncos, winning only once. His horrendous statistics: 79 or 128 for 792 yards, four touchdowns, four interceptions, 18 capture tasks, but it was clear to the Broncos after only two seasons that he was not the QB franchise.
The best draft selection: Justin Simmons. It was not a disastrous draft as a whole for Denver. The security All-Pro, Justin Simmons, was a third round selection that played eight seasons with the Broncos and was one of the few bright points through his (since he broke) the drought of playoffs.
2015 New England patriots: Malcom Brown, DL, Texas
After having won a Super Bowl with the dramatic interception of Malcolm Butler’s goal line against Seahawks, clearly the Patriots felt embodied to take a defensive player called “Malco (L) MB” in the first round. While Brown won two rings and won the honors of PFWA All-Fumkie, the former Texas star had a rather noticeable race and did not sign his rookie contract again.
Best draft selection: Shaq Mason. With due respect to Joe Cordona, a long patch that is part of the team of all the patriot dynasty, the positional value loses here against Mason, a fourth round selection that was one of the best guards in the NFL in the height of his seven -year career.
The last time a Super Bowl winner chose a Pro Bowl player in the first round of the next draft was the 2005 New England patriots, who sat at number 32 and selected the seven -time selection of the PRO Bowl, Logan Mankins. The 2006 Pittsburgh Steelers obtain an honor mention for moving on to No. 25 for the 43 MVP Santonio Holmes Super Bowl, who never made a Pro Bowl.
All this is to say that it should not be a shock Ifie Roseman and the Eagles do not get an incredible draft this year. It seems that this is just the natural cycle for a reigning champion of the Super Bowl.
