PJ Haggerty was the third leading scorer in male university basketball last season in a second year of second year for Memphis Tigers. Haggerty averaged 21.7 points per game splashing shots of the three levels and constantly reaching the free throw line. Only Eric Dixon of Villanova and Trenton McLaughlin of Northern Arizona averaged more points of the 2024-2025 season, and both are out of place for next year.
Haggerty is the last shocking addition to the transfer portal, which enters his name on Thursday afternoon just before the deadline of April 22. He immediately becomes one of the best players available on the portal, and could be the best name in the list in terms of players with several years of eligibility removal.
This is a devastating blow to the head coach of Memphis, Penny Hardaway, who comes from his best season until 29-6 in general, but could not win a game in the NCAA 2025 tournament. There will be a long list of suitors for a player with this type of production. He entered the transfer portal with a “non -contact” label, which means that it could be his next destination already chosen.

We classified Haggerty at number 9 on our list of the 50 best Enterprise marness players. The eight players classified above him are returning to his original school or entering the NBA Draft of 2025.
The NBA does not have much interest in Haggerty because it is a bit small for a scoring guard (6’3, 191 pounds) and does not have much athletic explosion: the season ended with zero overturned. Even so, this is exactly the type of guard that great university teams need in March as an ingredient of instant Fids that can create dribbling.
Haggerty was an absolute battle horse for Memphis last year, ending no. 9 In the total minutes they were played in which No. 2 is classified in both free throws made as free throw attempts. It is not a three -volume three -point shooter, trying only three shots from depth per game, but it is still an efficient scorer due to its ability to reach the foul line. Its 58.3 percent of true shots was superior, and is equally more impressive when mixed with its assistance rate of 20 percent and the use rate of 28 percent.
Haggerty must probably be collected in the portal. Name a university team that needs an initial guard: Haggerty should be your best option. North Carolina is a serious suitor for Haggerty. St. John’s still needs a guard, since he addresses the former first year student of UNC, Ian Jackson. Will you try a SEC school like Alabama or Kentucky enter the mixture? A school like Indiana could Reaxly Use it on the back to compete in the Big Ten.
Haggerty could be a first All-American preseason team when he informs the campus for the 2025-2026 season. Players with this level of production, experience and two years of remarking election do not often occur. Memphis loss will be a more likely blue blood gain.
