If it is a Friday ahead of a Formula 1 Grand Prix, it is time to talk about updates.
Friday is when the FIA launches the “automobile presentations”, listing all the new components that the teams have first installed this season. As you will see at one time, several of the components that the equipment are using this week are “specific circuit” components, designed for the unique characteristics of the Jeddah Corniche circuit, one of the fastest street circuits in the world.
Here are the teams with improvements for the Grandbia of Saudi Arabia. You can see the complete presentations of the team in document 7 here.
McLaren
We start with McLaren, the team that currently leads the Builders Championship. While the MCL39 is still the dominant package on the network, the team has brought two updates to Jeddah. Both are aerodynamic changes in the back of the MCL39, with the equipment by installing both a remodeled diffuser and a new eaves of the rear brake duct. The team believes that these new components will result in an “increased aerodynamic efficiency.”
For those who wonder, the diffuser is a component in the back of the car that is essentially the final part of the floor in the rear. It is the part indicated in the largest circle in the presentation of McLaren here:

Ferrari
Ferrari presented a new floor last week at the Bahrain Grand Prix, but several settings on its rear wings and beam to adapt to the “peculiarities of the Jeddah circuit.” The equipment has decreased the size of the rear wing when installing a shorter rear wing fin and “download” both the upper rear wing and part of the lower beam wing. This means that the two wings are angled to reduce resistance and, hopefully, increase performance.
Bull Red
Red Bull has brought two new components to the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, both to address partisan elements of the Jeddah Corniche circuit. First it is an extended output on the engine cover, which the equipment states is due to prognostic environmental temperatures. According to the red bull, the highest temperatures “require the use of a larger upper body to reject the heat necessary for cooling.”
Similar to Ferrari, Red Bull is also introducing a “reduced chord and lower compraint or beam wing.” This is to reduce aerodynamic load and reduce resistance.
Aston Martin
Aston Martin has brought a “specific circuit” update to the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, with the aim of reducing resistance. The team has a “[l]Ess aggressive rear fin “which is aimed at” less load and, therefore, drag to adapt to the characteristics of this circuit. “

Haas also has a “specific circuit” pair or updates, both with the aim of reducing resistance and aerodynamic load. The angle in the rear wings sets have changed, using two “rear transport fins” of the VF24, its challenger for the 2024 season. Okay for the equipment, both rear wings reduce the levels of drag and load, “achieved when raising and decambiating the profiles.”
The other new element is a changed front wing, which the equipment indicates that it is required due to the rear wing changed. The team has a “relaxed front fin profile”, which Haas says it is needed “[i]n to achieve a correct balance ”with the new rear wings.
Visa Cash App Racing Bulls
Again, the subject of “specific circuit” updates is present in the presentation of VCARB. The team has introduced changes in the front, rear and beam wings, all aimed at reducing resistance.
The equipment has reduced the length of the chord of the front wing fin, the distance from the front to the back of the front wing fin, which “results in less load generated by the front fin of the front fin at a given flap angle, which allows the car to balance so that the travel row -row -row of Lewer Rower Remera row.” “

Stop if you heard this before, but Sauber has some specific circuit updates, aimed at reducing resistance and aerodynamic load. The equipment has a smaller front wing fin, a low -drag rear wing set and a new final plate geometry for both the beam wing and the rear wing. All these changes aim to reduce resistance.
However, the team also has an update to its floor, with changes in the “central floor geometry.” Sauber states that this change “aims to improve flow characteristics around the rear floor, to obtain an efficient gain of aerodynamic load.”
