Gilgous-Alexander had 34 points and eight assists in the typical MVP game 2 of the MVP and the league score champion.

The co -star Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren played more as their usual beings on Sunday and made sure that the Pacers did not want to use their last second magic. The Alex Caruso veteran reserve had another strong performance and Aaron Wiggins produced a surprise impulse in the first final victory of Oklahoma City since 2012.

“I thought everyone played better individually, and I thought we played better collectively,” said Thunder Mark Daigneault coach.

“It’s the NBA,” he said. “There are many ups and downs. There are many other types that go through similar and guys who have just obtained their rights. Understanding that I am still blessed to be in the NBA and do what I love, you cannot … ready and take advantage of the opportunities I get.”

His performance was a welcome view for Thunder.

“It was huge tonight,” said Daigneault. “I went there with great confidence. I did not until the second quarter and immersed itself directly in the game. Great professionalism, great preparation and great performance for us in that situation.”

Williams, an All-Star who scored 17 points in the shot of 6 by 19 in the first game, followed him with 19 points. He did not shoot everything well: he did only 5 or 14 field goals, but made 8 or 9 free throws and pressed the defense of Indiana.

The Pacers expect Gilgeous-Alexander to write down, but they also know that they need to do better against the other Oklahoma City players in game 3 in Indianapolis.

“It is a matter of decelerating it (Gilgous-Alexander) and limiting role players,” said the center of the Pacers, Myles Turner. “Some of his boys took a step forward tonight. I think Wiggins had a great game. Caruso, hey, what he had to do. Then it is about limiting his players and making it more difficult with them, at least.”
