A federal judge has reversed the decision of a judge of the lower court to force the government to continue providing illegal lawyers to migrants with taxpayers.
The US district judge appointed by Biden, Araceli Martínez Olguin, had previously failed in Oakland, California, that President Donald Trump was not allowed to stop the financing of taxpayers for progressive groups that proved legal advice for illegal foreigners who face deportation.
The judge born in Mexico issued a temporary resting order on April 1 that required the administration to restore the financing of 26000 unaccompanied minors who seek to legally remain in the United States, the Daily Journal Reported.
The United States Department of Health and Human Services quickly appealed to Judge Olguin’s ruling. Consequently, on Tuesday, the American district judge Randolph D. Moss in Washington, DC, restored the administration pause on funds, the AP reported.
Moss said he did not see justification to force the Department of Justice (DOJ) to continue financing legal assistance while continuing a lawsuit filed by non -profit.
The initial Trump administration told the non -profit groups to stop their work immediately after the president’s executive orders on immigration. On April 11, the Department of Justice announced that it had terminated its contracts with service providers.
Moss has given the Department of Justice until May 14 to present information that details how and why they canceled the funds.
The defenders of the financing statement that the Administration does not have the power to change the $ 20 million a year that Congress has already assigned for legal assistance programs. They say that a sym in funds will cause “irreparable” damage to migrants.
