Illegal Migrants Cost Texas $121.8 Million in Unpaid Health Care in Just One Month

Texas taxpayers paid almost $ 122 million to provide medical care to illegal migrants only in November, says the Texas Human Health and Services Commission (HHSC).

Texas HSHC reports that the costs for the State for medical care for illegal migrants have exceeded $ 121.8 million in unpaid care only in the month of November. And that estimate is probably low.

In its report, the HHSC reported that non -citizens used hospitals in the state of Star Star more than 31,000 duration of time in November last year.

The data were tasks of the new state reports required by an executive order that entered into force last August.

“The Executive Order orders Texas hospitals to provide quarterly HHSC reports on patients who are not legally present in the US.” “

However, the estimation of expenses is probably low because the data is based on the number of patients answering questions about their immigration status in hospital admission forms and some migrants won the question.

Even so, this is his son’s first report in Texas and the month of Ify in the future, the annual total would approach $ 1.46 billion per year.

The reports of reports are similar to a law in Florida that requires hospitals to inform the number of migrants without sure they see each month.

A recent report in Florida found that illegal migrants had cost $ 660 million in unpaid medical invoices incurred by migrants.

When he signed his executive order last August, Texas Republican governor, Greg Abbott, said: “Texans should not have to pay the bill for illegal medical care of immigrants.”

Despite the requirements of reports both in Florida and Texas, no migrant is denied medical services.
