The representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) revealed on Friday that his daughter, Cosette, died earlier this week after his “battle against cancer.”
In mail In X, Biggs issued a statement that expressed that while the family was “devastated” by the death of Cosette, they were taking “comfort knowing that she is at peace with the Lord.”
According to the Biggs website, he and his wife, Cindy “have six children” and eleven granddaughters. Biggs was first chosen to Congress in 2016 to represent “the people of the Fifth District of Arizona”.
“Earlier this week, our daughter Cosette lost her battle against cancer,” Biggs said in his statement. “We are devastated by his death, but he comforts us knowing that he is at peace with the Lord. We are grateful that our family can meet to spend their last days by his side. Thank you all before their thoughts, and support Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy the love for Cosette and our family.”
Several people, including the governor of Arizona, Katie Hobbs (D), Representative Lauren Bobert (R-CO), Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), and representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) issued statements of condemole and expressed that their “thoughts and sentences” were with Biggs and their family.
“There is no greater loss than the loss of a child,” Hobbs wrote in a mail In X. “I extend my deepest condolences to representative Biggs and all their family duration at this difficult time.”
“Praying for the comfort, peace and strength of God to consume the Biggs family,” Bobert wrote in a mail In X. “We love you and Cindy.”
“We are all praying for you and your incredible family,” Crane wrote in a mail In X.
“This is a heartbreaking news,” wrote Congressman Abe Hamadeh in a mail In X. “Congressman Hamadeh keeps the Biggs family in his thoughts and prayers.”
“Please, unique me to lift @repandybiggsaz and his family in prayer,” wrote the representative Andy Harris (R-MD) in a mail In X. “that they find comfort, strength and peace in this difficult time.”
