Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea responds emotionally to Real Madrid’s television pressure before arbitrating the Copa del Rey final.
The final referee of the Copa del Rey Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea accumulated before Saturday’s game when they talk about pressure officials who have faced Real Madrid television this season.
Madrid faces the rivals Barcelona in the Spanish Cup final in Seville and this week the television channel of the club launched a video that attacked the official, as they did to several referees this season.
The whites also published an open letter in February claiming that the Spanish referee was “manipulated” and “completely discredited.”
“When a son of yours goes to school and there are children who tell him that his father is a ‘thief’ and the one who arrives home crying, is totally messy,” Burgos Bergoetxea told a press conference on Friday.
“What I do is try to educate my son, to say that his father is honest, especially honest, that he can make mistakes, like any athlete,” he continued, becoming emotional.
“This is really messy … but the day I am leaving (the work), I want my son to be proud of what his father is and what arbitration is; he has given us many values.”

When cleaning the tears, the 39 -year -old asked for a deeper thought on the subject of the referee’s abuse.
“It is not correct for what we are happening, many colleagues, and not only in professional football, but also at the base level,” he added.
“Everyone should reflect on where we want to go, about what we want from sport and football.”
Pablo González Fuertes, the referee by VAR for the final, suggested that officials could take more measures on Real Madrid television broadcasts in the coming weeks.
“There is no doubt that we will have to start looking for very serious measures that the bar,” González Fuertes said.
“We will not be constantly to allow what is happening. Soon, you will hear from us.
“We are going to make history, because we will not continue to support what we are supporting.”
