The opening statements are scheduled for Wednesday in New York for the misfortune of the former magnate of the former Magnate of the film Harvey Weinstein, this time with a female majority jury that decides the #MeToo Case milestone.
Weinstein’s prosecutors and lawyers finished choosing a sixth and last alternative on Tuesday after a selection process threw a jury of seven women, five men and five alternative jurors on Monday. The alternatives enter if a member of the main panel cannot see the test.
Weinstein was sentenced in his first judgment in 2020 for a jury of five women and seven men. The verdict marked a crucial moment for the #MeToo movement against inappropriate sexual behavior, promoted by a series of accusations against the Oscar winners, including Pulp Fiction and Shakespeare in Love.
In a blow to the #Metoo activists, the highest court in New York last year revoked the sentence and prison sentence of 23 years after the original trial allowed women whose accusations were not part of Weinstein’s charges.

Weinstein, 73, declared himself innocent and denies rape or assault anyone. He has insisted that all the sexual encounters in which he was involved were consensual.
The 12 members of the main jury for the New York trial include a physics investigator, a photographer, a dietitian, a therapist, a software engineer from the investment bank and a fire security director. Others have experience in real estate, television commercials, debt collection, social work and other fields.
The chosen ones were interrogated about their background, life experiences and several other points that could relate to their ability to be fair and impartial in the highly publicized case.
Prosecutor Shannon Lucey sought guarantees that the possible jurors could put aside any position or feeling they had about #MeToo.
Bombshell’s accusations against Weinstein exploded in 2017 and led to an avalanche of accusations against other powerful men when women defended themselves against sexual violence in what the #MeToo movement was known.
Hollywood’s tycoon underwent emergency cardiac surgery after being taken from prison to a hospital in New York in September. He was later diagnosed with bone marrow cancer and received prison treatment by chronic myeloid leukemia.
