Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed Iran’s nuclear program with Oman’s visiting leader, said Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq al, said the Kremlin, as the diplomatic transfer around the edges of Iran-United States.
Oman has been mediating between Iran and the United States, since the president of the United States, Donald Trump, seeks an agreement that slows Iran’s nuclear program, which Washington believes that it aims to develop a nuclear weapon, something that they will deny.
“This issue was played … in the context of Oman’s mediation efforts,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, to journalists an informative session at the Kremlin on Tuesday.
The Kremlin foreign policy assistant, Yury Ushakov, also said that both parties “discussed the progress of negotiations between Iranian and American representatives,” according to the comments taken by Interfax.
“We will see what the result will be. We maintain close contact with our Iranian colleagues. Where we can, we help,” said Ushakov.
Trump has threatened to bomb Iran unless an agreement is reached. Iran has said that there can be no agreement under threat of bombing.
Russia signed a strategic association treaty with Iran in January and is also trying to improve relations with the Trump administration.
Moscow has a role in the nuclear conversations with a signatory to a 2015 historical agreement of the previous 2015 that Trump abandoned the duration of his first mandate as president in 2018, a measure that led Iran to violate his terms a year later.
Russia has warned that any American military action against Iran would be illegal.
In televised comments, Putin was the Sultan that Russian energy companies were interested in developing relationships with Oman.
Meanwhile, Putin announced plans to organize a summit with the group of states of the Arab League at the end of this year while Moscow looks for new partners while continuing its three -year offensive in Ukraine.

“We plan to celebrate a summit between Russia and the Arab countries this year,” Putin told the Omar leader.
“Many of our friends in the Arab world support this idea,” he added, inviting Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq to the summit, without specifying the date and location.

The two parties will discuss bilateral relations and international and regional affairs of the common fashion point, said the Guo Jiakun Ministry spokesman for a regular press conference.
It is believed that the visit is of great importance to depend on mutual political confidence between the two countries, Guo told reporters.
Araghchi previously visited China, who was a signatory to the 2015 agreement since the 2015 abandonment negotiated by the world powers that reissued in Tehran’s nuclear program and tested it with substantial financial relief, in December.
