Israeli attacks in Gaza have killed 39 people and injured 105 in the last 24 hours, says the Ministry of Health of the Enclave.
More Palestinians have succumbed to their burns after an Israeli strike hit its refuge in the city of Gaza during the night, increasing the number of dead to at least 13, with reports from six remaining people under the rubble.
The school turned into Shelter was one of the several sites hit in Gaza on Wednesday. Gaza’s civil defense said that four more bodies were taken from two nearby houses.
Rescue teams know that at least six more victims remain trapped under the rubble in Gaza City, but cannot communicate with them, Hani Mahmoud of Al Jazeera in the city reported.
“It’s not just his inability to get to the area,” he said. “They lack the heavy team necessary to remove the rubble and recover the bodies.”
In total, 39 people died and 105 were injured throughout the territory in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health reported.
The last attacks occurred when the president of the Palestinian authority, Mahmoud Abbas, urged Hamas to free the Israeli captives in Gaza.
Hamas, who governs Gaza and his rivals, ABBas’s AP, said he would free all captives in exchange for a complete Israeli retreat and a permanent end of the war, but has rejected Israel’s demand to disarm, calling him a “red line.”
New fire thrust?
Despite a one -month -old dead point in Alto El Fuego negotiations after the resumption of Israel’s attacks on March 18, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Bin Jassim al Thani, says Doha, recalled conversations to finish with him.
A delegation from Hamas arrived in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss a new truce proposal.
Meanwhile, Israel continues to block the aid, including food and medicine, between Gaza during an eighth consecutive week.
In an unusually strong criticism, France, Germany and the United Kingdom called the “intolerable” Israel block.
“Humanitarian aid should never be used as a political tool and the Palestinian territory should not be reduced or submit to any demographic change. Israel is bound by international law to allow the passage without obstacles to humanitarian aid,” said a joint European statement.
Since the war resumed, at least 1,928 Palestinians have been killed, which pushed the death toll over 51,300, according to the Ministry of Health of Gaza.
